I think it is wise to support as many pro-hunting organizations as possible, I really liked Campmeats comment....

I know a lot about both sides of the state. Lived in hell (westside) for 46 years and moved to the eastside 11 years ago. Everybody join Washington for Wildlife and I'll join WWPHA. That's a fair deal. :chuckle:

Im a member of both!!

We get tired of all the westside crap too. That's not a very good comment what you said if you want to grow your association. It's that kind of "COASTIE attitude" that the westsiders are famous for. It's me, me, me.  :chuckle: :chuckle: I lived over there, so I know all about that.

Randy is going to send me info on trying to help out on the eastside with ideas or whatever you guys need. I'll help as much as possible. I've sent him my home address if he wants to mail anything to me. You can also get it from him or me if you want. Predator hunting is by far my favorite thing to do, remember all those calls you sent me ????

sorry i'll stay out of stuff and no more posting here on these post.  sorry if i have caused problem's. Rick

didnt like what Little Toes said.

I'd have to say, as little as you say you know about the East side, I can sure make a safe bet that I know even LESS about the West Side!

I see folks, who are from towns I've never heard of, and have no idea of the location.
As to having "Desire", I know of a few folks over here, that will give anyone over there a run for their money when it comes to the love of hunting predators! No worries in THAT department.

Although I can't think of any one thing that a "Membership" might help with, when it comes to Predator Hunting over here....its crowded enough, and I'm not ready to share "MY" spots. ;)

Good information is always Good though!

we helped alot keeping night hunting open. one of are member's did a great deal. Rick ;)

Not sure if you saw it or not Rick, but at the last meeting Miranda Wecker brought up night hunting again and it will be discussed in the next three year cycle.

This time it does not look too good.

The tribes want an exception so they can hunt bears and cougars at night.

The tribes want an exception from who ? We can't hunt on their land so they shouldn't get special privledges from the WDFW.

These are the kind of issues the WPHA wants to take on. But strength comes in numbers. Which is why we have changed our name. And want to get some east side guys on board.

P.S. The tribe in question is the Colville.

I'd join if I knew what was up. There are coyote hunts in eastern washington in the winter that I'd like to do, but, nobody advertises them. It seems to be word of mouth. Hillbillies I guess....... :dunno:

yeah i tryed to go to one of them hunts around pomeroy that some of the locals put on we contacted someone dont remember who to make arrangement for hotels and whatnot and we basically told it was for locals only. I was pretty disappointed because i thought it was all supposed to be about the hunting not what side of the state you live on. :dunno:

Ah! But Rick, I didn't have any intention of making it a "East or West" thing....I've worked very hard for some of my spots, amazingly hard. Lots of phone calls...e-mails, foot work, knocking on doors. The point was, I don't want to share with anyone, East OR West.

I have no issue with you posting your feelings on this, and I do indeed agree with the above, that "WE" as a group, need each other for our voting power to save hunting in EVERY form.

Over the years, I have been exceptionally generous on my hunting spots, and have been repaid by friends bringing friends, family, associates.....Not saying YOU, or anyone else would or has done this....I've just been forced to "go back to the drawing board" many, many times. Talk about frustration.....

The sad part is I know "me", and I'll tell folks where to go to find good game....guess its the way I am??? Don't know.....

littletoes,
We are not just a group looking to pick you clean of your hunting areas. You don't have to share any of that. We are a group of hunters wanting to make sure that we can retain what hunting we still have. And possibly add some.

We are also trying to open a line of dialogue with the WDFW, and the commission. Hopefully to put a rest to some of the us against them feeling on both sides. We recently had 2 WDFW higher ups come in and put on a presentation on cat bioligy. They were very interested in our input. And the attending members left with some great knowlege, and a good feeling from this interaction. Personally it was the best public outreach I have seen the dept. make.

We will be having them in for future presentations pertaining to coyotes, and also for bears.

We are the Washington Predator Hunting Association. And predator hunting isn't just limited to predator callers. It includes anyone that aims a rifle at a predator. If predator hunting is something that you enjoy. Then we definitely need your support.

As adnahoundsman indicated, we are not just a bunch of dog calling hunters, we are sportsmen and women who are trying to preserve what we have and are trying to make it better.  I will admit that the WWPHA was started by a bunch of predator callers but we have progressed into a good thing.  Are we still predator callers, yes.  But not all predator hunters are callers.  If you point a weapon at a predator, you are a predator hunter.  What we are trying to do is foster our relationship with the WDFW so we can continue to have input in future decisions and regulations.  The meeting he indicated about the cats of Washington was a very good meeting.  It established that open door of communication we so desperately needed.  What we need now is continued growth in membership as we all know that there is strength in numbers.  Hence, we are now the entire state...
