Wow! That type of situation hardly ever happens. Of all the cats that Ive seen over the years, none have ever been that close for more than a second and then they usually silently vanish. Congrats! Was this on huntable land??????

Im not sure it wanted a hug mulehunter. Be happy to take pics of you trying to hug one though :)

Ouchfoss, yes it is on national forest land. Its in an area I have wanted to try calling at for a couple years now, I havent tried before though. I will be up there come fall!

I have seen the look on it's face up close and personal before. They have absolutely no fear. Fortunately, I was able to shot the one that was looking at me but I will never forget the confidence that I saw in it's eyes.

It does not look nervous just hungry. You shuld have had your buddy take off running down the road and got some live action camera shots?  :chuckle:

Awsome catch.  I have only seen about 6 cougars in the wild and only had one opportunity where I could have snapped shots.  That's a challenge.  They always see you, but most rarely see them.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
