Anyone ever hunt for elk in Skagit River?
« on: June 15, 2011, 11:32:45 AM »
I drew an Elk tag for the Skagit river and was wondering if anyone has hunted that area before and if so, if they could tell me anything about the area. Thanks.

Most of the land is private. and there have been some issues with image regarding the nature of the hunt. Talk to any of the farmers in the area, they are more likely to give permission than home owners, unless you have an in. the area is roughly the everything between hwy 20 and the river from the Hwy 9 bridge on the W end to some where east... cannot remember the E border. go for a drove and drive the border now... talk to some land owners and line it up...
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

They love to hang on the little islands on the river. Have a buddy that lives on S. Skagit hwy rite at the bridge next to Finny cr. He sees them cross S. Skagit all the time.
