New to Washington
« on: June 15, 2011, 04:35:37 PM »
Hello my name is Andrew I am new to Washington State.  I moved up here last September from Austin,TX.  I just started bow hunting two years ago and have fallen in love with it.  I have yet to tag a deer but have plenty of hogs under my belt.  I am excited for this year to go elk hunting for the first time.  I am headed to Peaches Ridge.  As for deer I have not found an area I will hunt but it will be somewhere east.  I am overwhelmed by the amount of public land and not having to have a lease!  I look forward to getting to know ya'll.

Welcome to WA and welcome to the forum. I bet it's a welcome change not having to buy a lease....

Welcome.  Quite a bit of difference for hunting and fishing.  Coming from Oklahoma, it took me a while to adjust.  Only getting one tag / one animal was a huge surprise for me and a let down.  Eastern Washington will not be as big of a change for you as western Wa would be.  Good luck and happy hunting.

Welcome to the site and to the state and to the bow hunting fraternity. I've only bow hunted for 6 years now and can't imagine my life without it. I'll be hunting big bulls in the Peaches unit this year also. Good luck! Maybe we'll meet on the mountain.

Welcome. My nephew lives in Austin and I sell to a lot of top end restaurants there. Although the regs are a bit torqued, you'll enjoy the Pacific NW. Our woods and hills are awesome.
