Author Topic: Step by step Instructions for Adding Frames and Borders to Photos  (Read 938 times)

                                    Adding Frames and Borders to Photos

1.   Pick the photo and open it in Photoshop
2.   Double Click o the Image Icon on the right hand side of the screen
3.   This opens up a pop up screen named Layer 0
4.   Click OK
5.   Now click on the Rectangular Marquee Tool on the left side tool bar
6.   Select to area in the photo where you want the Frame (by clicking & dragging)
            (if you want a frame inside and outside the photo you will now click Inverse   
              under Select in the top command line).
7.   Now right click your mouse inside the blinking frame that you have created and
Select the Stroke Command.
8.   When the stroke command popup comes up you choose the width of the Frame.
9.   You now click on the Color Box to select the color of the Frame, on the Color popup and click OK. Then click OK on the Stroke Popup.
10.    Now go back up to the Select Command on the tool bar and choose Deselect.
Your frame is now inserted.
     

                                  Now to build a frame around the Outside of the photo

1.   On the toolbar command line select Image
2.   Scroll down to the Canvas Size Command
3.   On the Popup change the Pixel selection to Percent
4.   I normally choose 108% for Width and 105% for Portrait Orientation photos and
105% for width and 108 for height on Landscape Orientation photos.
5.   Click OK
6.   Now you go to the Layer Command on the Top toolbar and select New Fill Layer.
7.   Choose Solid Color and click OK.
8.   You now have a colored screen and No Photo. Do Not Panic!
9.   On the right hand side of the screen you will see Color Fill 1 and below it will
                Be Layer 0.
10.   With your mouse Click on the Color fill 1 and drag it below Layer 0 and drop it.
11.   Bingo! You have inserted Frames and Built a Border!
12.   Now Save Your work and move on to the next photo!
