Carp shooting tourney was a bust
« on: June 24, 2011, 05:26:53 PM »
Ya had a carp shooting tourney in Pot Holes last weekend the weather was crap and the fish just were not there, Extremely hard to find.  Probably the worst shoot that I had.  If you missed the tourney you, you didn't miss much just a good night buzz.

Not sure the temp the water was pretty warm in the shallows but ya it has been messed up this year water levels are way down in Brewster where I normally shoot And the tributaries are flooding.  So I can't even shoot for fun.  This is the time where I love to shoot when nothing else is biting.  So it's pretty slow.  Just lots of Coors light being drank to pass the time.

Well.....hell. Sounds like you made the most of it. I have had many a time sipping and not catching. Just the way it goes. Keep at it, keep working on getting folks together to experience a shared interest and you will be making the world a better place at little bit at a time.

Yeah that's what the other guys have said. Pretty slow and low weights. At least you got to go I stayed home and worked :'( :chuckle: They are going like mad here now and I haven't even got out I got way to much hay to still get done. Will get out for sure first week of July when my friends come down! It should be some great shooting with the spawn being late because of the water temp. They also keep messing with the dam and that makes the water dark and the fish spooky here so I hope they cut it out!

You ever shoot around Bordman or something like that there is supposed to be a tourney down there in August.  Not familiar with that area I hear there is a lot of fish to shoot.  Its on the Columbia Oregon side I guess.
