boys and clammin/hood canal

I will be in shelton later this week with 5 -10 yr. old boys weather maybe iffy.Thinkin about takin them to the canal for some little neck and manilla clams.Looked on wdfw website thought I would possibly go to Potlach st. park. This a good place for clams anybody know? A little help would be appreciated. thanks kram and sons

dosewallups state park has  some good clamming in brinnon,or used to

Try south of Potlatch on the tide flats or a little spot north side of the boat launch.

Potlatch is usually a solid bet.   There are a lot of people that frequent this area so sometimes picking are on the slim side (compared to my secret spots) but I think you guys will enjoy it.  I agree with KNOPHISH the area south of the main public area is better just looks at the maps there or ask a Warden if they are there, that's what I did.
Hunting and fishing season lasts all year.

Well we went down to potlatch st. park thurs. am.walked south along the beach to almost thepower lines and we really hit the jackpot we had a great time most everyone was right at the parkin area and we ended up with more clams then I could eat.Kids had a great time and we were all muddy and dirty. I would definetely recommended it.
