Aluminium arrows seem to be more forgiving in regards to "tuning" your bow with broadheads.  At least I have found them to be.  Carbons seem to last WAY longer when shooting them over and over again.  It doesn't take much to warp your aluminiums.  Carbons are queiter out in the woods when a fir limb smacks your quiver.  Aluminium tend to be cheaper.  I 've shot and currently shoot both.

Carbons seem to be more durable as boneaddict said and you can get them for a reasonable price. Few months back I bought a half dozen easton axis arrows from the sportsmen warehouse for forty bucks. As far as tuning your bow and arrows with broadheads I personally try and find the broadhead that doesn't need much tuning. Magnus stingers, montec g5's have flown true for me, not much tuning necessary if any. Also other people think highly of the slick tricks. Aluminum arrows are going to be heavier, but with carbon you will get better speed out of your bow IMO.

I like the carbons better since I switched from aluminum. They were smaller diameter, way faster and just seemed less " clunky". Carbons out shot my old aluminums with broadheads and all tests. Good luck.
