Are those the tryploids or what ever they are called? My husband and some buddies were there a couple of weeks ago and had the same awesome fishing trip! Nice looking fish, and they made great smoked fish also!

I am going to the Lake Chelan with my girls - I might get lucky to get a half day off from camping and doing nothing in the sun, get myself to Rufus Woods... will have my rod and gear for trout... I don't even know what to use. I have only salmon and steelhead gear.

It's way to far to drive to use bait. You can only keep two, use lures, pinch the barb and catch a ton

Nice!! I cooked one of them on the barby last year and it was so greasy it cuaght on fire

Does that lake get planted every year with 2 to 10 lbers? or do they just get that big after a year or two?

Most of the trout caught are from the net pens. There is a commercial trout operation on the reservation side of the river. Fish have been escaping for years and lately some fish have been released for sport fishing. This year all the fish in the pens were released because the heavy spills over the dam was killing the fish in the pens.

Yeah, a buddy of mine caught a few. That was the first time I have ever seen a trout with marbling fat through the meat.

Been fishin RUFUS for a very very long time and the first thing we always done was to catch a couple and fillet them out and eason them up and throw them on the BQ with garlic bread and baked beans ( Maple flavor that is ) I do not eat much trout but I mean son its awesome sheet when you do it once every year .....

we may need to head over before the end of the month ....
