Did you have access up the Taneum Rd. at Elk Heights or is the area closed to motorized vehicles?

I was there 2 weeks ago taneum rd is open all the way to the end of the pavement. Then the road that goes to the right was closed.

ditto that,  just got home from 3 days up there.   Sure seems like they are staying a lot lower with all the feed.  Was so excited to see so many
healthy calfs.

i seen 4 calfs for every 5 cows i seen, also quite a few spikes aswell that i dont count in my bull numbers.

i plan on scouting 335 and 328 a little more. but sense they are true spike units i have been focusing on 336 which i know better

No elk left in 335 wolves killed them all.  328 and 336 are next.

If the summer keeps holding up as being cool you won't have to worry about hiking to the high country because the elk will still be in the lower elevations in that area.  I was up the audobon last year and had to really get back in there last year because summer was lingering longer than it wanted to but now that this year is dragging out into a cool summer the elk seem to be hanging out in the lower elevations longer and hopefully won't trek into the high country for long?

Seen lot of elk up in the audobon but didn't harvest any last year.  Seen lot of deer as well going up the audobon.  Got fooled by a rock pit in that area and went all the way down there and found out it was a dead end then, had to turn around and go all the way back up, don't make the same mistake the rocks at the bottom are pretty jagged.

Help me remember, does this mean there is access to the 3330 now?

nope:

The following Forest Service Roads are closed to motorized use due to flood damage.  It is unlikely that these roads will open to public travel in 2011.

Road No. 3100 is closed from the Sno-Park to Barber Springs Road
Roads No. 3111, 3111-112, 3111-115, 3111-117, 3120, 3330 and 3330-127 are closed
Road No. 3350 is closed from mile post 1.6 to the junction with Road No. 3350-119
When traveling on Forest Service roads please remember to stay on the road.  Do not leave the road to go around a snow drift, downed log, muddy area or debris.  The road will likely be blocked by another obstacle within a short distance and the damage you do to the shoulder of the road and the adjoining land is unsightly, unhealthy for the environment and is costly to repair.
