Great pics! it is pretty awesome being up in the snow way back in there. See any animals? tracks? Did you fish any lakes?

A buddy and i discovered a small lake in there a couple years back with no trails to it. We caught trout literally every cast on this BS collapsible rod he brought. So much fun!

As soon as the snow melts more alot of people get to Copper, Malachite, Little heart and Big Heart lake up there.

I've found lakes like that, bites on every cast, 2-3 fish fighting over the lure as I reel it in..2 inch trout trying to bite me as I wade in a bit. I think one pluck a few hairs off my calf...

If you talking about accessing the Trout Lake Trailhead and hunting above that its not a very good spot to hunt the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area from. Best to go over and hunt from the Cle Elm side.

Yea in the Big Heart, Otter, Angeline entrance intothe ALW there is not alot of deer and the same goes with around the Lake Dorothy entrance. Maybe the number of people or terrain and rearly see hunters there even during the regular season. Feel free to try but hate to see you waste time but atleast you would be able to catch some fish.
