Suggestions for broadheads and arrows?

I just bought my first bow (the new Bear Mauler) and would like some suggestions on a good hunting broadhead and arrow. I was looking at G5 montec broadheads and Carbon Express Mayhem arrows. Let me know what you think? All suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Good broadheads, excellent choice. I will never shoot anything but an Easton Full Metal Jacket, little expensive but worth it.

Good choice.  Just make sure to get the proper spined arrows.  Check out the carbon express adjusted peak weight chart before you pick your arrow.  You will probably have to add a few pounds to the adjusted weight of your bow.  It's unlikely you will need more than the 350 though.

I like the montec, hear good things about the shuttle t's as well. Shooting easton axis arrows and i really like em. Have shot carbon express in the past and liked those too. Just make sure they are the right spine for ur weight and  length and they are heavy enough to be legal.

Ive got Montecs and a few others.......this year I am going to try the G5 Strykers.......be sure and consider them.

G5 Strikers are great.  I've been using them for the past few years and have shot 3 bucks with them (WA, AZ and MT) and haven't had an issue yet.  Both complete passthroughs, no broken blades, quick kills, shoots where I point it, etc.

I use the Easton Axis nFused arrows.  Just my choice but, really, there is nothing yet listed on this thread that I wouldn't use.  It's all good equipment.

Good choice for broadhead and arrow.  I use ICS's right now, but am switching over to the Carbon Expresses.

I use Beman MFX (Similar to ICS but thinner diameter for the weight).  That translates into better penetration (much harder to remove from target than standard diameter arrows) and theoretically less wind drift, but I suspect the fletchings determine wind drift more.  I'm using Muzzy Phantoms but proper spine and form is real important for accuracy.

I suspect the 350's may be underspined.  Post your draw weight, and draw length and I can tell you more specifics.

I am in the same boat. Using muzzys now, would you guys Rex omens the g5 strikers over the montech?  I like that the Strykers have replaceable blades but I want the most accurate bh. Also what about slick tricks and Shuttle t s?

It may be too late to suggest this but, if you're looking to buy Carbon Express arrows, go to wal mart and pick up their arrows.  They are made by Carbon Express and renamed for sale at Wal Mart.  I confirmed this with Carbon Express last year.  Call them up and ask them what the wal mart equivalent of the Mayhem's are.  I went with the Wolverine Hunter which is the wal mart equivalent of the CE Terminator Hunter.  Full retail price right now is $5 each.  Hit them after the season and you can find them for $2 each.

I have used standard Gold Tips and 100gr 3 blade Muzzy for years and will not switch to the newest greatest stuff that comes along until I run out of inventory or can't buy it anymore. Since your a new archer and may be comfortably pulling 60# or less, from your knees when your freezing to death, a good 2 blade broadhead is a good option.
