Another Rino 530 question
« on: May 16, 2008, 08:52:15 PM »
Do any of you guys have carry extra battery pack?  If so which did you go with, the adapter for AA's or the rechargeable?  Second question, I cant figure out is what does the repeater channels actually do for the unit?

I use the Lithium Ion battery pack primary and carry a rechargeable battery pack as back up. So far I've not needed a backup. I have a LI backup also but is heavier to pack.

I carry both the rechargable and the alkaline with me when I go in deep for extended stays.  The alkaline pack will not allow you to use the radio in 5 watt mode.  Keep that in mind if transmission distance is a concern.

Ya I found out about the alkaline batteries, so I went and bought another rechargable for back up.  Cost 50 bones for it.
