The SST is a ballistic tip bullet, the "skin" is thinner thus when the red tip gets pushed back into the bullet it expands or explodes and causes alot of trauma to the game. They are not my choice for heavy game or shoulder shots on tough animals. They are very accurate and do well on deer just be careful. I like and use the Hornady Interbond bullet, similar in design but with a thicker jacket and bonded to the core so not as likely to come apart. I found they penetration better and they have the same ballistics. All just my opinion and from experiences from bullets I have recovered from animals that I and my hunting partners have recovered.Firing Pin
