The Nile and make sure you carry a primos hoochie mama.  Every 5 minutes or so, give it a squeeze.

Yep just like all the rest of them.... 2 years ago in the bumping (7 miles in by apple lake had 2 guys go below me doing tha... so let them get about 300 yards away.. and I cow called a few times then did a locater bugle... LOL  They came running squawking away on their hoochie mamas... almost died laughing till I realized they had nocked arrows and were "hunting" me.

Now back to the OP... I'd go to the Bumping... if you can pack in and stay.  Get away from the roads.  There are some monster bulls back in there if you are willing to work for them

going to go scouting this week end. probably drive around and get familiar with the boundary. Hope to find a good place or two for a base camp. then get out and get the boots broke in. We will have our work cut out this year.

Remember, when you head up there next weekend, that big bull, well I put dibs on him last weekend! So just look for something a little smaller.

If you have one picked out already, I will leave him be and look for a BIGGER ONE...

Lots of snow still up in the higher elevations last weekend.  Cool weather this week so its not changing very fast.

Too much snow...stay home.  Business partner of mine went up there.  He didn't mention snow, but I didn't specifically ask either.

If this current weather pattern does not change, the Elk may never migrate to the "nose bleed" sections.   We are going camping in the area this weekend, and will report in.

I went.  Some elk are up high already but I didn't spend a lot of time looking for them.  Still snow drifts to 4-5 feet on the north slopes but the south slopes are mostly clear and it is all melting fast.  Less mosquitoes than there will be in a few weeks; actually was rather pleasant from that perspective.  All the lakes I checked were free of snow &  ice and the trout were rising.
