I was wondering what caliber I would wanna use on them.  If i see one during elk season ill use my 300 win mag, if not during season, I might just have to bring out the .264 win mag!  or maybe i need a new rifle dedicated to wolves ; )

We are going into our normal area in Idaho for deer and Elk in November.  Wolves are really taking a toll there.  Hunting them for one yr has seemed to chance their attitude about people.  The yr before the 1st season in 09' we heared wolves every night and had one 250 yrds above our spike camp at daylight...  It even walked across the foot bridge on the trail- we saw the tracks.  09' when we bought 185$ tags we heard them at night and saw a pack several miles away- no close encounters.  Last yr we found a few kills way up but only heard them one night.  They are not dumb and are no way an easy animal to take- just have to luck into one.  We know theres PLENTY of them out there.

I think they will give a refund if you call them
"Shoot the spike".  It's much easier to pack out!

Trade it for a bear tag and buy a wolf tag. If they will do that.
