Gramps hit me up to take him out hunting one last time. He's 87, so can walk but not too well, he uses a cain & a walker around the house. He's a WWII vet drafted before finishing high school, worked & retired from Boeing as a machinist. He's depressed as his wife of 60 years is on her death bed now & he was resigned to give up eating to go with her within a couple months. The thought of getting out hunting perks him pretty good. All the usual hunts I know about are are hike in for me so wouldn't work for him that's why I'm asking if anyone could help. I may have an atv or 2, I can borrow from a friend to get him out in the woods then figured put him in a chair. He hasn't been able to get out hunting in about 10 years since he was tied down taking care of grandma with her Alzheimer's & no one else could give him any relief as she'd freak if he wasn't around. This is the guy who taught me how to fish, shoot & hunt. I think I was 3 or 4 when he took me to catch my first fish. We hunted the 340 manastash several times years ago saw lots of elk but never a shooter. He's lived in the same house in Snoqualmie since 1965 it been staying with my mom in Bonney Lake the last couple of months. Neither of us smoke or drink or anything like that. Oh ya, he's a modern rifle shooter for deer or elk, probably just for the weekends. I'm open to getting him out anywhere but wondering if eastern WA would be better, I don't want to get him rained on & catching pneumonia or anything. I'm more than willing to do anything to get him out one last time, doesn't have to get an animal down but it'd be great if it happened I could do all the work after that. I've got a couple deer & an elk the last few years so somewhat experienced. Any help would be greatly appreciated & thank you to all in advance.
