broadhead help

i just went to shoot my new muzzy 100s and the flie nothing like my feildtips  :bash:anybody know of a tip that shoots exactly like field tips.

first thing make sure that your bow is properly tuned, paper tune it, make sure your arrow spine is correct for your set up. any flaws in bow tuning will be multipled by broadheads. i personaly shoot g5 montecs and they fly great for me. i do know of people who shoot muzzys and dont have any complants.

A well tuned bow should shoot any broadhead good. That being said out of the 30+ types of broadheads I have shot. The best that I have found that I trust my hunts here and around the world on is the g5 montec.

After your bow is tuned its a matter of very fine adjustments to your nock point and center shot.

General answer is to move your broadhead toward your field tip (moving your rest or nocking point).  Up and down is usually easy to fix and I would do that first (raise arrow rest or lower nocking point 1/8 inch at a time until both arrows hit same height.  The left and right is a little harder and depends on spine of arrow or it could be left or right position of the rest.  Before you mess with the left and right position of your rest, make sure you have used one of the charts or programs to pick the proper arrow spine for your setup.  Paper tune or walk back tune or modified French tune with your field tips.  Then you are ready for broadhead tuning.  If you move your rest left (1/8 inch at a time) and your field tips and broadheads get closer...then keep doing it until arrows are hitting same spot...or they start getting farther apart.  Pick the position that gets them closest.  In your case, a stiffer spined arrow may also bring them closer (but still may need some slight broadhead tuning to get optimal rest position.

Have you spin tested it ?  Make sure they are spinning perfect.  Also are you shooting more than one arrow ? Maybe put that broadhead on another arrow. Shoot a couple and number the arrows, make sure they all hit the same point.  If multiple heads with multiple arrows hit the same then time to do a little tuning.   Also  my local shop has a cup full of different broadheads to try and see which flies best with your bow, saves buying and tossing. Tune like other said.  You can also try the shorter profile bh like the G5 Striker or Slick Trick.

i shoot the muzzs, but they do hit a little diff than field points, so I make sure before season my sights are fine tuned to the b-heads. I suspect the reason muzzy now offers a different shorter head is to help get them to fly closer to field points with the faster bows..
