Hells Canyon Sheep
« on: August 19, 2011, 10:16:27 AM »
Took the wife on a jet boat trip up Hells Canyon the other day.  We went up 95 miles from Lewiston to Johnson Bar then back.  Saw two bear, a few deer, maybe 20 ewes and kids, and this one ram.

Nice pictures.  I really need to go on a jet boat trip up there.  Been telling myself that for 20 years....

They were 70 yards from the water when I spotted them, and they were 100 yards away when we got turned around.  I only had my  point and shoot camera not the good one, so I didn't try to get a picture.  The ram was 10 yards from the water and stayed there when we got turned around and came back up for pictures.

Hey Todd
That looks great. Your boat or guided? If guided rough idea on cost. This is something I would like to do with my family.
Any particular time of year best/better??

Was a tour company that we went with: Beamers is the name of the company.  Think it would have been a $200 per head trip, and any time of year is good but summer is nice when you get wet and then you can dry out quick and actually say it feels good.  hellscanyontours.com
