Anyone ever hunt East Klickitat 382 for the general late season ML deer season I am hoping to draw the blue mountains foothills tag this year but if I don't this is a hunt that has always made me curious it's close enough to home not to cost a small fortune but I don't know if there is any public hunting property in the area might have to go for a drive one of these days and check it out.  Can't beat the timing of this hunt and they give 10 whole days.

My brother and I talked about trying the late muzzleloader hunt in that unit too. So a couple years ago we had rifle tags but thought we'd try the rifle season just mainly as a scouting trip to learn the unit for a future muzzleloader hunt. Turns out there is virtually no public access in that unit. Even the timber company land in the northwest part of the unit is posted no trespassing. I'm pretty sure the hunting club there must have the hunting rights leased up. Private hunting clubs everywhere you go. Lots of deer but they're all on private. There was a couple of sections of state land that we did get into and saw a couple of deer but no bucks, except for all the bucks we could see where we couldn't hunt. Not trying to discourage you but it really is tough, and I know how to use GPS and read maps but if you want to hunt there you pretty much have to pay. Either that or spend a heck of a lot more time scouting than we did. I would definitely spend my time elsewhere, although I know there aren't many other options for late season mule deer. You just might have to go for a whitetail instead.
