Recently finished this great blacktail mount.  He had such a beautiful hide, I hated the idea of shortening his shoulders, so spent about four hours and 21 inches of stitching to repair his brisket.  This was my customers first shoulder mount and he was a little excited after shooting such a great buck!  fortunetly he still had the hide pieces so we could sew them back on!

P.S. remember we need capes!  thanks Duane

The work of a true craftsman turns a lemon in to lemonade.. It looks so good you can't tell he botched it up. Good work!
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Nice work, I had to have the same done to one of my mounts after Stewart's didn't listen to me and cut right up the front of the brisket :bash:. Last time I'll go back there ever.

Last year a guy called me and said "Hey dude, I shot a buck.  A guy I know said that you might want the cape."  I said "Sure." and drove out to his place to get it.  I found the deer hanging, the hide in one corner of the barn, and the head (amputated at the throat) in the other corner.  I patiently explained to him what a "cape" actually was... :chuckle: :chuckle:  The buck made a nice Euro mount though...

Maybe the guy spent a lot of time at the local sportsman tavern checking out the old "head mounts" or "neck mount" and thought that was what your lookin for  :chuckle: :chuckle:
