Sat the third I left Oly wa to go east for elk and maybe see a buck. We set camp up and headed out in the morn for about a 2 mile strait shot to the top to get a look see. The heat was bad and it was about 2 miles to the bottom where the elk were. We made a group decision to head further east into the unit. The butcher i got into bow hunting

advised it. While we were driving into camp I got a shot on a TOAD of a buck 30+ and mass for days by far the biggest buck Iv'e ever layed eys on. I had him at 65 yards when I got out and knocked an arrow I'm not confident at this range so I stalked up about 25 yards through the brush as I drew he steped out of my shooting lane. I drew down. He steped right back out about five seconds later and I came to full draw, put the fourty dead on the vitals and let her fly. Miss no way!!!! my heart droped as I relized I had shot under him. Fourty yards checked it then checked my bow and it was off wtf!!! I sight my bow in at 40 yards off my back deck at a 45 degree angle dead nuts why shooting flat or up hill does it shoot low??? Mon got out of our new camp on the bikes and still jumped a few cows crossing. scouted all day. Tues got into elk in the morn no shots tues eve about 4 We droped off into the thick stuff and got into them again Stalked to 20 yards from the big momma and 6 other cows ranged a calf at 21.3 and went to draw when they all blew up and out of the draw no more elk wens other hunters pushed them out and shot a calf. We packed up sat afternoon and headed home with high hopes for the last few days out there.
