Definitely call... The "person that lives there" doesn't have a legal say... If you truly already had permission I would still enter and tell the resident they need to talk to the property owner... But that could easily backfire...

Agreed the person does not have legal authority, but they could easily call the police on Tony.  I would just contact the owner and i'm sure she will still let you hunt it if you had permission in the past and no had no problems with the landowner.  Just make sure she calls the current resident to let them know so you dont get the cops called on you. Good luck.

Possibly...I'm not a lawyer, but if they gave permission then leased the property to someone else, those rights may go away. Just because you own the property does not necessarily mean you have full rights associated it with.

For example, if you rent your house out to someone you can't just show up and sleep in one of the bedrooms because you own the house.

agreed, ran into this turk hunting. landowner moved & the leesee didnt want any problems so shut off hunting. he also said the property owner had no problems but as a leesee he did not want any liability, was given the choise & he shut it down. he is also not a hunter, no problem with hunters, just didnt want any problems.

Depends on the rental agreement. It could say she only rights to the house and nothing else. You would be wise to call like you said. Good Luck!!!!

Call the land owner and clear it up....one of the farms I worked for leased grazing land but the owners and their friends hunted the land so we usually moved the horses to a different pasture for that time frame, was not at all uncommon for large land parcels to have a house leased to a tenant who had no say over the land or only partial use...definitely dont write it off just call and see ;)
