First Archery Kill
« on: September 13, 2011, 09:46:27 PM »
Here is some pics of my first ever archery kill.  This bear came into our elk spot looking for water.  This is no bait, not calling, just old fashioned sit on stand waiting for an elk.  We only waited about 10 mins before he walked in on my 11 yr. old son and I.  Wow, I'm so excited.  Going to have the skin made into a rug with head.  My wife even said we can mount it on our wall!!!!  Taken in Blue Mountains of Washington. We named him "stinky."

As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

He spun around, then went about 10 yds.

Very Cool! How excited was your son?

He said,  "Dad, that scarred me so bad I can't quit peeing!!"  We went to retrieve my arrow (a little early, after 20 mins).  The bear got up and walked another 10 yds and laid down again.  That is when we both about peed our pants.

:yike: Too cool! Glad it turned out great. What a memory for your son and you to have together.
