Shooting?
« on: September 14, 2011, 04:29:59 PM »
When shooting on game I think I have a complex.  Like I sych myself out as I release and shoot low.  The first deer I ever shot at with my bow was a two point, I shot over his back.  Now any shot i take on game i shoot low like i cant get over my first miss.  Has anyone had any sort of problems like this as a beggining archer?  I practice alot and do not take unethical shots.   Any tips on shooting would help.  Thanks for reading.

you most likly are dropping your bow arm to see where your arrow is going to hit

I think a drop away gives you a fraction of a second less to make a mistake. Think of it this way....with a biscuit the arrow travels through it, with a fall away it drops as soon as the arrow make forward progress. Less contact means less influence (negative) on the arrow. I've been told that a drop away helps as you increase in distance.
