Fire Danger

I know it usually takes about a week of rain for them to take it off, but I heard Hancock took down their signs. Any word on Winston I'm guessing still locked up tight

I called Hancock today and their still closed in our area, it sucks cause the bulls were starting to get aggressive when they shut it down. I'm not sure about Weyco.
A bad day in the woods is better than a good day at work.

i was down in that area yesterday and talked to a guy that said he worked for wherhouser (i know thats spelled wrong) but he said he was taking down the signs and they where opening it up. i couldnt get any info from the hotline. if you do go down there stay away from the 300 and 360 line some a**hole was in there poaching he was caught but they dont know how many elk he killed i walked all over and didnt see any new sign and didnt hear anything.

:dunno: always check the hot lines... not everyone out there removing signs has the right to do it. in the past 10 years or so Longview timber and Weyco have covered there signs with black plastic and do not remove the sign but leave it in place if needed in the future. I would be leary of someone you dont know driving an unmarked vehicle taking down signs and telling you its ok to hunt, always check with the land owner first......  :sry:

 :IBCOOL: UPDATE: I just got off Weyerhaeusers access line (360-425-2120) (then press 1) as of Sept. 16th due to decreasing fire danger the St. Helens Tree Farm is OPEN to Non motorized access. All access coridores are again open to the state land. Go be free and hunt tell you cant hunt no more! :IBCOOL:

Reminder all three areas have diferent restictions so check first! Pick up the phone and make a 5 min call to hear it for your self! Have a great Hunt all! :hello:

Yes, the winston unit opened up on Friday.

I called the hotline at 1:30pm, left work at 2pm, hit the woods at 4pm, and had a cow down at 7pm.

Went back last night to try and find my cousin an elk, and there were two dip*censored*s driving around in trucks in there  :bash:

I called the hotline last night. It's odd that St Heles is open but the coastal area is still closed. And Vail.   :dunno:
