2011 High Buck Hunt
« on: September 20, 2011, 08:54:19 PM »
Got this guy first thing in the morning on the second day of our hunt.  He was bedded with 3 other bucks down out of the wind.  My dad spotted the bucks, we picked out the one we wanted and the work began.  Thanks dad for spotting him and helping pack!

Nice buck. Looks steep. I'd bet it's even steeper than it looks like in the picture?

Hunting with Dad in the mountains.  It doesn't get much more successful than that.   Way to beat the odds.

Gotta love those high country bucks.,..  Congrats to you on a great buck and great times spent with dad.   I especially like how you had yoiur orange on for one of the pics to keep the "Hunter Orange Popo" off your back.  Nice job

Thanks Everyone!  It was a great hunt and ended up seeing 7 different bucks and one giant 4 point but could not close the distance on him.  I am not going to get him mounted, but I will put the antlers on a plaque.  It is very steep country and we wear crampons on our boots to help with traction.  We are in a couple hours to where we camp.  All in all I am very happy and ready for Montana in November!

:yeah: Congrats on meat in the freezer and building more stories with your father! Love it!
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Too cool. I get to duck hunt with my dad, but have never had the fortune to deer hunt with him.  Sure sounds like a lot of fun.  What a great pic for the wall

The pack was tough out.  My pack was 105 pounds and my dad's was 95 pounds.  The muscles were pretty sore the next few days!
