Like it or not.  A fish that has a hook in the gillplate forward is legal.  Now I am sure if someone yanks the rod nine times per drift is a separate issue

Well in some rivers gill plate forward is legal, but not the Quil or the Skok. Both have special rules that state "In the mouth"

The Quil is done. I went there last week and saw a mix of chum, dark coho and tons of snaggers. I was tossing a small vibrax in one of the only holes I could and finally nailed a couple, that bit...

When a salmon goes up the rivers they go through sexual dimorphism- there body begins to deteriorate and they quit eating. So the only way you can catch fish is by flossing them or by pissing them off. They dont "bite" to eat.

anyone who knows anything about fishing salmon in a river knows you either get real lucky by flossing one , irritate one by hitting it in the face with your bait or whatever and it bites at it , or you snag one and maybe get lucky enough for it to be in the mouth.

Maybe you should get off your soap box there silverdalesauer and madison. Fish the mouths or the bay if you are so concerned with making sure it is in the mouth. I am afraid that is the only way you will do it other than like i said , getting darn lucky.

Seriously????

they may not actively "feed", but tell that to any salmon that inhales my eggs!
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

if a salmon in a river bites at anything it is because you happened to hit them in the face with it or it pissed them off enough to attack it. before you high and mighty guys get your panties in a knot maybe do a little research first.

a few of ya obviously did. salmon in rivers don't bite for feeding purposes period. they attack things because they are irritated with them. sorry if that is not your outlook on things but it is a fact.
