.270 win, 140 accubonds, 55gr RL-19. This combo has done a fine job for me.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Weatherby Vanguard in .30-06. My brother found this one at Wal-Mart with the Bell Carlson stock and a good
pattern paper in the box. Scope is a Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40 Boone and Crockett. I'm shooting Federal Nosler
partition 165 for deer and 180 for elk. I've killed some paper the last three years but no animals yet. Saturday can't come soon enough  :IBCOOL:

I shoot a good old hand me down my dad killed a lot of animals with. I cherish that gun more than anything I could buy. 30-06 Winchester. I shoot only Hornady bullets in the 165 grain variety. Kills deer, a bear and a couple Elk. I love this gun. I will pass it down to one of my daughters when the right time comes!

Weatheryby vanguard 308. 21" pacnor barrel, magna ported cause I like it loud  :chuckle:. Timney trigger set @ 2lbs. Bedded into the Factory tupperware stock. It's wearing leupold rings and bases, redfield 2-7x33

It's shooting hornady 150gr sst's into 3/4" groups at 100 yards. Sighted in 2" high.

I got s score on this rifle. Picked it up "unfired". Quoted as being a factory rifle. Got if home gave it a thorough cleaning and found out all its goodies. All for a $365 for the rifle

We may let you slide on your scope only being 10x. I am just not sure how you expect to see what others hunters hats say with only a 10 x scope.  :dunno: :chuckle: I do have to ask though, do you have a little pink skirt to put around the end of the barrel where the brake is?  :chuckle:

I'm learning in sewing class how to make one that will stay on...so we're working on that. I need to reinforce the elastic where the waist band on the skirt would be because the muzzle blast keeps blowing it off 10-15 yards away.

I tried the sewing thing with mine but the needle was way to small for my fingers, so I went a different route. It's not as Classy as a hand stitched skirt but it is a " All weather model" and fits my "Sissy" brake on my 450 Ultra Magnum nicely. I did find one in a light shade of mauve that would fit a box of factory ammo nicely but for the life of me I couldn't find a box of " Sissy " factory ammo anywhere in my reloading room.

I have not tried firing the rifle with the skirt in place, so there may be a chance of it being blown 10-15 yards away. I will test it before Sat deer opener here in Easten WA.

Nice skirt..

I have seen the wounds of 270, 7 MM Mag and a 338 RUM.

Bullet weight and type make the difference.

My son shot a deer with the 338 RUM and a 250 grain bullet.
275 down 2

The skirt is easily removable and can be switched between all my rifles with brakes easily, it fits my .270 WSM with a brake nicely. Yes, the barrel is fluted, I was affraid I would be called a wuss if I couldn't hack/hump the non fluted barrel efficiently. I also installed a Shilen trigger due to the wuss factor of not being able to pull the factory trigger weight in extreme conditions/ weather. Please let me know if there in anything else I can do to the rifle to keep the sissy/ wuss factor as low as possible, I don't need the stress of a rifle complex while in the field this year. I need to stay focused.
