some of us dont get to elk hunt this season and would give anything to be stuck with a tag, so when you worded it that way you really came off kinda like you didnt care about it so why should we  :dunno: plus the crowd here is always a little rough on the new guy especially on the main forum....and for some reason the elk are even more heavily guarded and coveted than the other critters....

and you are in reach of good elk areas but elk take some research and leg work....

I agree with you Runamuck , Even though I have never tagged an elk in Washington, doesn't mean that I don't give it my all! But this year watch out I think it's my lucky year, I am taking the whole modern elk season off from work, live in my camper and beat the heck out of the brush! Even if it means that I will be hunting solo for more than 75% of the time, I will be out there! Being in my "Field of choice", there are some years (more often than none) that I can't enjoy hunting in the woods. (being stuck on the ocean 1/2 a world away can suck at times). So if I am state side, I am in the woods. My (soon to be) 6 year old asked me what I was going to be for Halloween, and I told her that I was going to be an Elk hunter.  :chuckle:

If you are so uninterested in it....why go? Wow.

From Kent, you are within range of many great elk hunting areas. Do some research or somebody is going to suggest you try Island county.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
