Waders in or out

Do you wear your waders under the jacket or do you tuck the jacket into the waders? And for what conditions for each

Depends on how deep the water is and if its raining. shallow water and rainy days ill leave it out. if i have anything in my pockets and its not pouring down rain i tuck it in. really dont like water running down the inside of my waders.

Waders are under the jacket.  If your getting into water deep enough to get the jacket submerged either take it off or you can tuck it in at that point.  To be honest with you I just take it off if the water is that deep.  If it's cold enough for the jacket you'll be wanting to have access to your pockets.

I never wear my waders over the jacket since I want access to the pockets and I don't want rain finding its way down into my waders. If I wade, I either pull the bottom up higher on my body or take it off. If you do go over the top of the waders, the jacket seems to keep a lesser amount of water  from entering than if not being worn; that is if you just take a short dip. From my steelhead fishing days , I always wear a wader belt for make a drenching less savior.

I wear my drake pull over tucked into the waders and the jacket on the outside.  I use a wader jacket style.  I never tuck it in.  If it is raining it will all eventually make it to the inside otherways.

I do the same as said before, usually I wear a Drake pullover or a hoodie tucked into my waders for warmer days and setting the dek's, then when back in the blind my  coat or shell goes on over the outside of waders.... it is nice to have the jacket on the outside for pocket access....

i wear a drake wader jacket that is underneath and all the pockets are way up high for access.  if its real cold my waders have a jacket built in and i will pull it over everything.  or if its raining ill pull the jacket so i dont get water in my waders...

Like some have stated in earlier posts tuck it in or take it off in deep water.  Last year I went for a swim by accident, an its very hard to kick out of waders with a jacket over the straps :twocents:

My jacket has a liner that I always wear on the inside of the waders. If I need the shell that always goes on the outside. Always works well for me. If it's warm and pouring I can just wear a light fleece under the waders and the shell outside.
