I know the deer numbers are down and the amount of hunters are way up, but the absolute beauty of the area will keep me and my kids coming back until i cant manage to walk these hills anymore!

Yeah I love that area!  I might be going over next week to hopefully help a friend of mine kill a deer.  If nothing else it will be awesome to spend some time walking that beautiful country!

Amazing looking picture. I think ill have to get over there sometime and make a hike. You boys keep the deer though. I already have my spots picked and the last thing a place like that needs is more hunters!

Can never get enough of the area.
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

ran out of "bullets" the other day.  Reached into my bag and there were no cards in it.  They had all dumped out on my hike.   I was lucky to have a spare in the truck, but that didn't do me any good with the moose I was standing with. :chuckle:

Well the deer numbers are down for sure in  Okanogan county...and the wolves probably have a little to do with this in the Methow Valley.  Add to that development, hunting on the winter range by certain groups :dunno:, poaching, and road kill, and the numbers will never be back to what they once were.  Beautiful country for sure, but it would be better if the area was teeming with wildlife like in years gone by.

That place is something special! I have hunted it the last 4 yrs, got my first archery deer there. I am not going back this year because I have an opportunity to hunt 3000 private acres in Grand Coulee and want to check out a new area. I will miss it this year for sure, I will also miss going down into town every night to get some good food and a beer after a long day of hunting.
