dusting clays(pic heavy)
« on: July 05, 2008, 08:59:06 PM »
today was the shooting lessons for chris_d and jamie that they won in the big bucks for josh III auction. the boys from high performance shotgun training had a blast introducing these 2 young men to a sport that they will hopefully partake in for the rest of their lives.
thanks to robodad, walt and bob from hpst.biz and seattle skeet and trap for having us. also thanks to a few others on this site for putting this together and giving us the opportunity to make this happen....you know who you are.
this is jamie holm, josh's younger brother, itching to get on the 5 stand...

and this is our own chris_d being himself  :chuckle:

jamie learning from walt how to follow a target

and chris dusting a target with bob backing up(not needed)

Looks like fun!
I need to get out there and do some more shotgunning!

BTW, it looks like only about half the "gang" was wearing their earplugs properly.

The decibel ratings are figured when the plug is completely in the ear canal (say 28db for example).
With 'em only partially in your ear, you're be lucky if they'll work half as well--maybe 10-12db.
Roll them between your hands (or fingers) to compress 'em and sink 'em deep in the ear canal--almost to the point you can't remove 'em.
Save your ears!

I left it better than I found it...did you?

I agree, what really works for me is to compress them by rolling them in your fingers, then with your opposite hand pull your ear UP then insert the plug.  This straightens out your ear canal letting you insert the plug properly to where it'll actually do some good...

Great pics and way to go Jackelope!
