pse bow madness xs VS bear assualt vs....<insert bow here>
« on: October 28, 2011, 03:01:15 AM »
im gonna leave my boomstick at home this year, and go for a new approach... its time to learn how to bow hunt.

growing up, since the age of 7 onwards to when i got my first bb gun (13ish) i always had a bow, and it seemed i could hit anything back then.... as far as shooting-sports go, i was sold on archery from day one... of course that totally changed once i realized what a gun was.......  but, now.... its time to get a bow.

ive been doing alot of research, reading, and shopping around...

first of all, the entire "finding the right bow" experiance has been awesome... unlike buying a new rifle, i acctually get to shoot the bow BEFORE buying it, which helps a million times more than some guy standing behind a counter saying "this should do the job"

the bows ive shot and liked the most are the PSE Stinger, PSE Bow Madness XS, and the Bear Assualt, with the Bow Madness taking the lead...

growing up with a bow made out of a tree branch, later moving on to a garage sale recurve, i was as giggly as a schoolgirl once i got to shoot a modern compound, the bow madness took the cake, but, i know there are alot of other bows out there....

i like a smaller frame ( 29" axle to axle w/ bow madness) and a short draw length (27" is perfect for me) but, something capable of 70lbs for the bigger critters....

what can you guys reccomend? right now cabelas has the bow madness xs for 499$........ what else is out there for a comparable price?

catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

I smoke two fish in the morning, I smoke two fish at night, I smoke two fish in de afternoon makes me feel alright

I'm a Hoyt shooter. I shoot the Turbo Hawk and love it. It's a replacement for a Reflex that delaminated. Great service company.
