Muzzy peep sights
« on: October 19, 2011, 08:48:28 PM »
I'm wanting to change out my blade style sight for a Williams peep sight. The guy that sold me the peep said that it goes closer to the breach than the blade which is mounted half way down the barrel. Do any one have the correct location ? My TC Northwest has no mounting holes at the breech so the only alternative is to mount it in place of the blade site or do I need to look for another muzzy.

The TC NorWest does not have scope holes drilled and tapped in the receiver?

My understanding from reading a couple of reviews is that the NW explorer is NOT drilled & tapped, which really limits your options.  Don't try to put the peep halfway down the barrel--you won't be able to see your front bead.  You can either upgrade to fire sights (if you're hunting Washington, not Oregon), or have some gunsmithing done to install a peep at the rear.

Good luck!

you'll need to have a gunsmith drill and tap for a receiver sight. In my opinion it's worth it.

Very worth it. Williams top mounted or Lyman side mounted peeps are the way to go.

The NW Explorer is not drilled and tapped because scopes are illegal in the NW I would assume. Everything about them is NW legal. Just a hunch. I'm thinking pretty hard about having mine drilled and tapped so I can install a Williams.
