Suggestions for a good red dot?

A friend of mine wants to put a red dot onto a .22 LR handgun (Buckmark).  I have no experiance with Red dots.  Anyone have somehting that is well priced and of good quality?

docter had the original micro dot and barska made one that appears to be the same design. now everyone is copying with their own design.

The aimpoints have been making a good name for themselves for years now and they just came out with their "micro" series which is a little smaller but still not as small as the docter/barska holo
