I would say don't worry about the sun thing, it is hard to find just the right spot. Intersecting trails is the best advice. Also get to know your camera, and how fast the trigger is. Set it up in the house, and try walking into or past your camera. Check the pictures. I did this at first and it kinda helped me understand how slow or fast an animal can be traveling and get photo'd.
Don't get discouraged if you aren't getting pictures on your first, or second set. Getting the angles right, placement, and heighth is a learning experiment. Looking forward to seeing some of the animals you have been chasing!
