Big Blacktail
« on: July 08, 2008, 02:10:02 PM »
Saw this guy this morning, about a mile from my house.  He was with two other decent size bucks as well.   Check out how tall the rack is.

It's a horrible picture, but gives you an idea of how big he is.  With so much construction going on, I can't believe they were there.

5x4.  For the other two, it was a 2x2 and a 2x3.  The 2x3 will be a non-typical if he lives long enough.  His rack was all messed up. lol

Of course, I had a cheap digital in my truck and couldn't get a close up without it being blurry.  I'm going to start watching the area more and see if i can get some good shots with my SLR.

It definitely made my morning.

Of course not....it's county property.  The area is completely fenced in - the tall fence with barb-wire on top.  Not sure if the bucks can get in and out, other than through their gate.
