I ran into some guys with that tag today while i was pheasant hunting...

Were nice guys and I felt bad that they weren't seeing much.

Started driving out and figured I would glass for some elk. Found a 42 head herd with 5 or 6 bulls. Jumped in the truck and sped back up the hill in search for the guys. Found them and asked how big of bull they were looking for. "Any bull with horns" they said so I said "Follow me"...

3 hours later and a 2 mile stalk = 2 bulls down.

My good deed for the century. I was very happy to have helped these nice guys out.

Awesome man, how are things going for you??

Things are going quite well. Got a decent buck, some grouse, some quail, my springer spaniel is working quite nicely. Only problem I have now is that I can't find any pheasant. Pissin me off!

Still high and only moving last half hr and bedded by daylight.  I usually sleep in during general, get up at 9, finda spot and wait for the tired, freezing, discouraged hunters to get up and stomp back to their trucks to scare my elk to me.... :chuckle:

Filled my Peaches tag with a 5x5, saw several scouting including some really big guys, but if you look at the 2011 bulls taken sticky, I'm not sure there's anything left in the area over a 5pt :dunno:

Chin up lads, they are headed east.....
If hunting was easy, they'd call it killing....

Never judge a man til you walk a mile in his shoes.  That way when you do judge him, you will have a mile head start and he will have no shoes.
