Vortex Razor HD 10x42
« on: October 31, 2011, 06:39:06 PM »
After researching these a little I would like to hear some feedback from anyone who owns them or who has looked through them much. From what I've read they defineately compete with the overpriced euro brands. Thanks

Overpriced Euro brands?...not sure I would make that statement.

I owned Vortex Razor 10x42's for about a month.
I used them during that period and they were clear and sharp.
I did not like to eyecup design...it seemed to adjust itself whenever it wanted to.
I did not like to field of view...maybe I'm spoiled with my Nikon LX's...maybe I just don't like 10x's.
I sent them back for a refund.

I've looked through them and really liked them.  They aren't my swarovski's el's but they are very nice.

I own the razor 8x42 and have been extremely happy with them. Very hard to beat for the price.   :twocents:

I have had, but sold the Razor HD 8x42.  That focus/diopter arrangement is so flimsy it is silly.  Just wait until it comes off in your hands and you will see what I mean.  Yeah, I know, it was maybe just mine, but the design in all of them is the same.  Further, it simply could not seperate itself far enough from the less expensive likes of other glass I own, specifically the Kruger Caldera, the Theron Wapiti APO-ED or the ZEN ED 3.

Now it is very good glass.  I'm not saying that, but it is very easy to equal it for less money.  Vortex may be pushed to sell many considering how good their own Talon HD is.

Has anyone used the Talons?  I am tossing it up between the Talons or the Vipers.

I looked at them the other day and they are real nice  :) pretty clear but that was at the store I wish they would let you take them out hunting for a day to two without having to buy them  :dunno:

I was looking for some Bino's for a Chrismas gift for a family member. I settled in on the Leupold Yosemite for $109.00. What were the Vortex selling for? I know I looked threw some, cant remember the price.
