Question About Buying an Elk Rifle Tag

I am only able to hunt the second weekend of the westside rifle elk season. I wasn't going to buy my tag untill Thursday or Friday of next week as I will have the money then. Some guy told me that elk tags could not be purchased after the season starts. Is this the case? Thank you.

not in this state you can buy it until the last day. sorry but i think this rule sucks. it should be like oregon midnight the day before the season should be the deadline. good luck to all.
