Getting Married in Leavenworth!!! Where are the elk?
« on: November 03, 2011, 02:24:07 PM »
Hey Everyone! So I'm gonna be in Leavenworth next week for a few days and was wondering if anyone could tell me where to go to possibly find some elk... Chiwawa or Swakane units? Never heard of any being around there but would love to get my new wife her first elk! All help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So you're going to be in the rut, but still taking time for some hunting?  Congrats.  Sorry I can't help out with elk around there, but I wish you luck......(both on the marriage and hunting part).
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

That's some funny chit there, man. Don't forget which event you're at and 1/4 your bride. Nuptials with the elk is also a danger!  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: Good luck with both!

That's cool.  You'll have to spend your wedding anniversaries in elk camp together.

The closest elk to you are the Blue Mountains. They hold a ton of elk.

Actually there are elk all around us... we live directly south of Turnbull in Whitman County but the bigger groups won't be through the area till late November and she has a modern tag and I'm muzzleloading. Needless to say I have a very good chance during late muzzleloader but the elk are scarce right now. Saw 4 across the road a day before modern deer season but around here every @*%hole that can get away with it drives and hunts the wheat fields and pushed them out to who knows where... you've never seen so much illegal activity in a season! :bash:

Well my fiance's family cabin is above Ski Bluewood out of Dayton... furthest rd in on Kendall Ridge or by Dexter Ridge? Don't know what they consider the ridge to be part of but anyways its at the end of the road by Twin Buttes and Zuger Spring... very cool place! I just started this post hoping to hear of something new to try out...  :IBCOOL:
