Always wanted to crow hunt. Not sure how to accurately tell the difference between a Raven and a crow though so I've resisted the temptation.

pretty easy actually, crows tail fan is round where a raven tail fan comes to a point like a pyramid

Ravens won't flock like crows do....and I'm not sure you can successfully call in ravens.

jamieb where did you get them decoys? ive been wanting to get some and a owl decoy and try calling them in. i have the johnny stewart crow and owl fight sound on my kanatitek and that sound works awesome. i had about 50 crows flying over my back yard after about 5 minutes of the sound playing.

crows flap there wings non stop, while ravens tend to glide more.  If you see the biggest crow you have ever laid your eyes on, its a raven   Nice crow shoot!  Im still door knocking and trying to find a place that will let me do it.

Something that has seemed to work alright for attracting crows in the past has been a colored backpack.  Used to carry gear in it and everytime let it sit while going to do other things, crows would move in and start trying to get into it.  It was red and black and easy to spot on snow.  You could probably just use a box or trashbag with colors/contrast on it.  Might not work for everyone, just something I've seen them go after.

Here is a good site to teach you the difference between ravens and crows.  I posted it before but it got deleted during the site crash.  Very easy to tell the difference between the two once you know what to look for.

For crows I have been using some high bass 6 in 2 3/4.  Works pretty good for me.
