And a bow hunting we will go!
« on: December 01, 2011, 12:32:09 PM »
Hello All,

Well, we will finally be off on our search for bows and include ourselves in the Archery bunch.

Had a quesiton.  I have a friend that isn't a hunter, but shoots for fun.  He wants to take us to the shop he used to go to.  He says it was in Lynnwood off of 220th.  Heading south on I5, he said you took a left over the freeway and it was down on the right.  Looking at google maps we cannot seem to locate an archery shop where he believes it used to be, and unfortunately he can't remember the name.

Anyone know of a shop around there that may have moved?  He really liked them and wanted to take us there.  Apparently not well enough to remember their name  :chuckle:

Thanks in advance.....Gary

Sounds like he is talking about Knock Point and I think it is technically in Mount Lake Terrace  :dunno:

dont buy based on one shop, one manufacturer.........   check them all out, take notes, and compare suggestions.   Its a big purchase, so be patient and shop hard.

I was thinking nock point as well, and know there is some information on here....so I will check those out as well.

Thanks for the tip buckfvr...Being a notorious researcher, I will definitely be shopping around.  The goal is to shoot as many different ones as possible and let the winner find me.  Going to be a fun, new experience for us....

Well, we will definitely be purchasing from The Nock Point.  Bill was awesome with us yesterday, and spent nearly 2 hours helping us and providing information.  He kept setting up different bows for my brother and I to shoot, and I learned alot.  Was able to shoot a couple of Hoyts, and really liked the Vector.  Also shot a Parker that I liked as well, just not as much as the Vector.

Bill mentioned that he will be getting in his new Martin products in the next week or so.  We will be going back in and see if we can't shoot a few of those and see if they beat out Hoyt.  Martin has a great bow package that is hard not to pay attention to.  But all in all, it was a great day...learned a lot, and Bill was awesome....

Can't wait to get back in there...

I'm not sure what is in their bow package, but if it was me I would go with a bare bow and add quality components to that. A lot of the packages I see have a decent bow then cheap components that you wind up replacing anyway. Now and into the new year is a good time to get a deal. Don't rush into it.

The packages include everything, sites, rest, release, arrows...etc.  Being new to the sport, I am sure I will be upgrading products as I continue to learn, but out of the gate I am going to refrain on spending big $$$ until I know what I am spending it on.  $600-700 out the door with a complete package, and case seems pretty good to me.  But I will continue to shoot different ones and see what feels best.  If that means a bare bow, and adding all the parts, then that's what I will do.  Tell you what though, just shooting the little bit we did yesterday, I am hooked.  Gonna have a blast learning...

Yep,Bill is the man! My dad bought my first bow from him when I was 12,that was 20 years ago. Since then, I have bought a lot of bows from that shop include my son's first bow. You will not find better customer service than the crew at the nock point.
