Lincoln GMU 501
« on: November 25, 2011, 04:21:45 PM »
I'm thinking about going down to the Linclon area next week, to see what that hunting area is like. I understand alot of it is gated and also it gets hunted hard, my hopes are not to hi to find any elk or deer.  My thought was to start on the Southeast corner of the unit ?  Can anyone help me with access into that unit ? which area might be better then others ?

I'm not looking for anyones honey hole, just not much into wasting fuel and hours driving.  Kinda hoping to find some walk-in areas and get away from the groups of hunters. PM if you can help.

Thanks  :)

The Lincoln unit can be a productive unit. Without tipping my hand, I would highly suggest mapping out the unit and then utilizing google maps to identify young reprod that those deer love so much. Find those clearcuts that border heavy timber and/or mature maple stands and you'll find plenty of deer sign. Good luck.
