black Friday surprise
« on: November 25, 2011, 05:27:31 PM »
closed up the office early today with the plan to hit an old honey hole for perhaps a chance for big blacktail buck with my SBXT.
this spot paid off last season with a nice 3x4 buck and several other past years too.

Anticipation was high. The moon overhead was right, timing seemed good after a big storm and it is late November. I planned a good sit until dusk's end at one of my natural ground blinds, that was constructed 2 years ago and refreshed this past January 2011. couple nice bucks fell to a well placed Slick Trick in these parts.
However I immediately started to notice something had changed....

wait....

so a question...

is this one in the same or two different postings??
North Bend north fork snoqualmie road area.
sure miss the Weyerhauser days, prior to paid access. 44 years later, this is becoming the norm...unfortunately.
both signs shut down access for my 4 prime stands to hunt blacktails close to home; 2 natural ground blind and 2 treestand locations.

DARN  :bash:

I dont see what the problem is, i buy a pass to  hancok every year, if you enter the gate you should have to pay :dunno: . The pay to hunt areas are getting overran with idots (hancock) from all over the place. People in cars??

but usually I walk in so a change for this year.

just trying to find an answer if both signs are hancock regulated. only the pink sign says Hancock. The red/white sign says written permit only but no contact to get such written permit.

guess I'll buy the drive in access permit for next year.

my biggest fear is pretty soon, it will all be pay2play. Just miss the old days.
and no hancock signs in this area last year, exception spur 10 gate.

Looks like you have at least until Jan 2012 to hunt the one area....

Search the county assessor's web site for who owns the other one.  They will have a contact address on there.

Definitely sucks!

If that is the private property sign on the right on the way to the gates and around Lake mcloed, it is now owned by a developer. Soon to be houses is my guess.

i heard rumor of this last year. i know they were getting ready to do A LOT of logging behind the lake a couple years ago. and all along the county road up to the first gravel pit has been bought up.

its a shame. i grew up hunting that tree farm. its my home away from home.
