There is about 18 inches of snow up high in Margaret, but the majority of it has little to no snow, and most of it will be melted off by the opener.

There are a ton of elk in the margaret but those of you who havent hunted it before, you gotta get out of the truck. The timber in most of the unit is nice and open, perfect for hunting.

The elk were moving down the mountain but they are going to be scattered again now since the snow is all melting.

Brother had been working on top but they just got snowed out for the year. They should be moving down some before too long.

Looks like it's going to be pretty nice for the next week, aside from Thursday. I'm hoping for a little dusting on the ground before the weekend. Of course, while I'm up there, I can always check NOAA weather on my new 655T Rino!!!!! :yike: :yike: :yike:

I got my cow at 9am or so on friday morning. Bluebird day really, elk were moving all around us. I know of 3 more besides mine shot within 10 minutes of eachother. Its a fun hunt once you find the elk.
