Can't Believe It!
« on: November 29, 2011, 06:13:44 PM »
So on Saturday we are over in 381 for late muzzleloader.  My cousin and I are sitting on the edge of this canyon waiting for a 100 head of deer to come up the canyon from the bottom.  There were several groups of deer crossing the road.  All of a sudden I see this dodge pickup slam on his brakes.  He shoots his muzzleloader out of the window of his truck from the highway.  He missed with his muzzy and then proceeded to pull out some kind of semi auto and opened fire around six or seven times.  I am yelling at this jack ass from up above through the whole time this is going on.  He dumped this doe on private property and drags her down the hill and loads her into the truck.  I couldn't make out his plate with the spotter.  So I am trying to call the sherriff.  I get the 911 operator for a brief second before I lost my signal.  So this dirt bag walks away with this animal.  If your a member on here I Did see you!!!  This kind of thing makes me sick!!!

Do you have a better vehicle description?  Color, extended cab, etc?  May help someone on here recognize or remember seeing the vehicle.

I predict that next year will be worse and the next year worse yet. And so on and so on. These hunting sites are to blame in my opinion. When someone posts that they see 250 deer in one day, 170 to 180 inch bucks in another, the have nots take notice. Shoot, there are so many on this board now that I rarely go to the deer and elk forums, I can't keep up with even a fraction of the posts anymore. Sorry, but when you post your unit and tag and the quality of the animals, people take notice. I know I do. Guess where I will be hunting next year.

 Good luck with that! I don't hunt it so tear it up! Good luck getting on to all the private land  and as for the big buck there are plenty inevery unit just have to be able to get to them and this area is no exception! there is a reason he got that big and it's not because he migrated from 12,000 ft  ;) as for the pressure it couldn't have anything to do iwth it being 1 of a few areas open to late muzzy could it  :dunno: I'm sorry it you hunt that area and think I just gave up your secret  :hello:

What about a local fuel station with video surveillance, maybe there is one that is a common place that hunters fuel up at before going in.  If you could recognize the vehicle again, Idk maybe a good idea to check, this guy should get his ass handed to him!
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Where abouts were you at? I saw a BIG 5 by something up there chasing around 20-30 does. Got about 80 yards from him before someone behind me spooked the herd. I was pretty pissed haha. PM me if you want. I was on public land btw.
