Years ago I shot a doe in hancock kapowsin ( was campbell then totally legal ) when I got to it its neck was festered and all kinds of wounds on legs and very skinny. I considered it a mercy kill. The only thing we could figure was that coyotes were after it.

What a waste..... :bash:

Yeah? Wait til the wolves start doing the same thing but only in packs and it's the elk by the herds. One day, if we still have any big game hunting left in this F'd UP State, we will need a back up shooter or two with shotguns just to watch for wolf packs while out hunting. Plus, the coyote populations will dwindle to nothing as the coyote is no match for wolves.

The buck was hit by a car before it got attacked.
