Great job, well done!!! Look's like you were down on the flats and had a long walk back out. Did you come in from the 504 side or Toutle side? Either way, long hike back. We were up at the learning center and watching a couple hunters down on the flats on couple weeks ago and they were in the middle of huge number of elk. Don't know whatever happened though. There were elk everywhere!!! Who knows, maybe it was you guys. Congratulations!!

Congrats to your son, good job.  Im glad they have that youth hunt, I just wish they would give out more tags in there for youth hunters.  To dang hard for kids to compete during regular Elk season.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Hry blindpig,, I work with Heaveyhauler, and all that he could talk about was this hunt.. I was thinking he was a kid waiting for Christmas  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  Congrats on the nice cow..He told me all about the hunt and how your son NEVER complained one little bit about the hunting conditions.... Great job on the hunt..Congrats to the boy..

Thanks a bunch guys.  His emotions went from crying to jumping up and down with excitement.  Took us about six hours on the first day, and yes we were the furthest from the truck we could get.  Came in from the 504 side, weyerhauser said they would open up the gate for us to get our animal out if we got one.  Called them after we got the cow down and...BAM!  They couldn't open the gate for us "We only have one guy and he's out by Forks today" We Packed 1/2 out that day and the rest in the morning.
